Between March 10 and March 14, all NPSC-hosted HHK web sites will be moved to a new web hosting company.  This process should be undetectable to HHK users, both staff and volunteers.  All of the work will be done behind the scenes. However, we will be taking HHK sites out of service for about an hour to enforce a freeze on updates so we can make sure to transfer all the latest data.

The transfer involves the following steps:

  1. At a date and time to be coordinated with each house, we put the current site into “Maintenance Mode” which disallows anyone to log in.
  2. We copy the database and configuration files to the new site.
  3. We verify the new site is up and working.
  4. We re-direct the old site to the new one.
  5. Users start using their HHK site again as if nothing happened.
