Non-Profit Software Corporation (NPSC) was incorporated in August 2013 when it became clear that the software developed for Pay-It-Forward House, NFP, in Sycamore, Illinois, could be useful to other nonprofit organizations. Founder Eric Crane wanted to share the tool he developed in a way that allowed Not for Profits (NFP) to have full-featured, computerized tracking tools without a huge price tag.

As a result, NPSC founded Hospitality HouseKeeper (HHK) software which is designed specifically for nonprofit healthcare hospitality houses to track house guests and patients, reservations and stays, and provide reports specialized to healthcare hospitality house requirements.

In addition to maintaining and upgrading the HHK software, NPSC offers services to help hospitality houses configure the software to their operations, processes, and policies, assist in staff training, and develop new functions and features that healthcare hospitality houses need.

Our History

Non-Profit Software Corporation is an offshoot of Pay-It-Forward House, NFP, in Sycamore, Illinois. In the course of Pay-It-Forward House’s growth over the past ten years, there came a point where the Excel spreadsheet used to track donors and donations became unwieldy, and information about donors was getting lost. A more sophisticated tracking system was needed. The thought was to migrate existing data into Microsoft Access, which offered more fields and better ability to sort data.

A Pay-It-Forward House volunteer, Eric Crane, who is a professional software engineer, was asked if he could help. He proposed, instead of creating an Excel-Access interface, to design a web-based relational database that would track donors, guests, and volunteers, three populations that Pay-It-Forward House serves and that overlap. Over the course of four years, Eric developed Hospitality Housekeeper, a very user-friendly system. Pay-It-Forward House runs most of its day-to-day operations with volunteers. The 100+ volunteers use the system with ease, even when they only volunteer once a month, even if they have little or no computer background.

Other healthcare hospitality houses started showing interest in the program. Eric decided to start a separate non-profit entity to market the software and provide it to not-for-profit organizations at a minimal cost.
