Welcome to 2021! With the COVID-19 vaccine almost here, we are glad to say goodbye to 2020, and hello to a New Year. May you focus on the small wins this year, and find ways to have hope.

We wrapped up 2020 with a new software build, full of features–one of which MANY of you have been waiting for. We hope to have that release out to all of you by the end of January.

Announcement about Internet Explorer

We mentioned this in the August Newsletter, but we are phasing out integration with Internet Explorer. Now that Microsoft is no longer supporting it, we are finding increasingly hard to develop HHK for IE.

With the latest build, parts of HHK don’t run well on IE.

If you still use IE, please get in touch. We really need to know who you are, so we can keep you informed.

New Feature Spotlight:

Saving “favorite” reports

On several HHK reports, users can now save favorite report sets for later use, and Admin Users can save favorite sets for the House, which all house users will see.
Payment Report, with Filter Set options
In the above image, a user can select the generic defaults, the “Monthly – Accounting”  House Set, or the user’s personal filter set: “Report to Board”.To create a new Favorite, highlight the fields you want shown in the report, enter a Title, and select either “Save As House Set” or “Save as Personal Set.”

Other New Features

Changing Hospitals

Several of you have been waiting for this one.

Hospitals (and all Hospital info–Doctors, Referral Agents, Diagnoses, etc.) are no longer tied directly to Patients. Instead, they’re now tied to visits. This means they can be changed without affecting earlier visits to the house.

We have a short video tutorial explaining exactly what’s changed.

Daily Charges Listed on Guest Statement

You now have the option to show Daily Charges at the bottom of a Guest’s Statement. It looks like this:
Guest pledges, payments, and a daily breakdown of charges
This is toggled on or off in Site Configuration.

And Loads More

As with every release, there’s more than just the highlights. To read the full list, and find other features useful for your house, please visit the News Page on our website.

Eric’s Corner

NPSC was extremely lucky in 2020. We planned for a worse effect from the pandemic but instead were able to grow in the shared planning and cooperative environment that ensued throughout the year. We communicated more with our clients, some of which could not pay and we did not charge. Some houses cut back their guest services and others operated at full capacity. Many Houses closed or reduced available rooms and still continued to pay their HHK maintenance in a very affirmative vote of confidence for HHK and NPSC. Thank you to all our clients nationwide for working together and getting through this pandemic. We hope that we have helped you as much as you have helped us.

What We’re Working On

  • Day Visits – After 2 years of working on this feature, we’re hopeful that 2021 might finally be the year where we add Day Visit capabilities to HHK. We’ve heard from a few of you about how Day Visits work at your house, but please contact us if you want to help design this feature. We really do need input on this one.
  • Multiple Patients – we are in the process of redefining our concept of a “Patient Support Group.” Our original assumption of only one patient per group was wrong and we are adjusting the software to allow more than one patient in a group in order to support twin babies, family car crashes, etc.
